President of International Federation of Societies for Microscopy

At the general assembly of the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy held during IMC19 in Sydney, Professor Angus Kirkland  was elected as President of IFSM to serve for a period of four years. This position was previously held from 2006-2010 by Professor David Cockayne, also formerly of the Department of Materials at Oxford University.
