Admissions Process Key Dates

Before you submit your application, please make sure you read the required documents section carefully as incomplete applications will be delayed until all the requirements have been completed. Applications are assessed as a whole and great care should be taken for all the components including the statement of purpose and the choice of referees.

Applications are centrally reviewed by the University for completeness then forwarded to the Department of Materials for review by the project supervisors. Following review of the applications some candidates will be invited for online interviews before offers are made.

Applications are accepted by the Department by midday for the deadlines below:
•    Friday 15 November 2024
•    Wednesday 29 January 2025
•    Tuesday 4 March 2025

We expect most of the places to be offered to candidates who apply by the November and January deadlines. Successful candidates will automatically be considered for the Oxford scholarships  funding if eligible.

The Department might still accept applications in the open field after the March deadline but we only expect a small number of offers to be made since available places and funding will have both already been allocated.
