Conducting polymer percolation gas sensor on a flexible substrate

the limits of detection for the five ppy sensors investigated

Professor Martin Castell's team explain how chemiresistors offer the potential to fulfill many of the requirments of a portable, low-cost vapour-phase analysis device, in this paper published in Journal of Materials Chemistry C.

The paper reports on doped polypyrrole percolation networks that are grown between Au interdigitated electrodes on flexible PET substrates.

The efficiency of the networks are optimised for rapid response times of a few seconds and demonstrate limits of detection below 10 ppb of ammonia in a dry nitrogen carrier gas.
