Yuanbo T. Tang

My research interest lies in the advanced processing and design of various metallic systems, such as nickel superalloys, titanium and magnesium, with an emphasis on high temperature, lightweight and biomedical applications. I use multi length-scale characterisation techniques to understand their behaviour under extreme conditions including heat, oxidation and continuum damage -- sometimes involving the design of innovative testing capacities -- especially for in-situ & miniaturised experimentation. Most of my research is in close collaboration with industrial partners; whilst others are driven by pure curiosity.
