New seminar: 'AI for Materials'

If you are a member of the University of Oxford, join us for the 'AI for Materials: From Tools to Autonomous Capability' seminar (between 1-5pm on Thursday, 23 April 2026), taking place in the Department of Engineering's largest lecture theatre (Thom Building).  

 

Confirmed speakers are:

  • Dr Sam Cooper (Imperial College London/Polaron Limited);
  • Dr Matthew Evans (University of Cambridge/Datalab Industries Limited);
  • Dr Omer Omar (Apoella Limited); and 
  • Dr Dominik Lukes (AI Competency Centre, University of Oxford).

 

The seminar will bring together researchers interested in how artificial intelligence can support and accelerate Materials research, with a focus on developing practical capability across the Oxford community.

 

The programme will include:

  • short talks from experts (see above) working at the intersection of AI and Materials Science;
  • opportunities to network and connect with colleagues across MPLS; and 
  • an open panel discussion.
