Angus Kirkland: RMS Honorary Fellowship

Professor Angus Kirkland

Many congratulations to Professor Angus Kirkland, who has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Microscopical Society (RMS).

Working in ultra-high resolution electron microscopy, and image simulation and processing, with such partners as the Rosalind Franklin Institute and Diamond Light Source, this recognition of Professor Kirkland's outstanding contributions to the field of electron microscopy, being the highest level RMS can bestow, is highly valued.

Professor Kirkland's research involves the development and application of aberration corrected HRTEM for structural studies of nanomaterials, the design of direct electron detectors and electron optics, and computational image processing and theory for phase retrieval and quantitative electron microscopy.
