James McQueen: IoM3 winner

Huge congratulations to James McQueen, of Professor Islam's research group, who won the Oxford heat of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining' 2026 Young Person's Lecture Competition on 19 March 2026.  James's winning lecture was titled:

'Atomic-scale insights into perovskite materials for next-generation solar cells'.

From there, James went on to compete in the South East Regional Final on 25 March in Cambridge, which he also won.  He will now go on to to the National Final to be held in the historic Armourer's Hall in London.
