Dr Lei Zhu, and Professor Saiful Islam (in collaboration with Professor Saif Haque's group in Imperial College) introduce a new design strategy for molecular dopants based on metallocenium salts in perovskite solar cells, and elucidate their important structure-property relationships. This approach provides precise control over doping strength and stability, establishing key design rules.
Perovskite solar cell films containing these metallocenium dopants show enhanced resistance to environmental degradation and device efficiencies exceeding 25%.
This work addresses the universal challenge of controlled and stable doping, providing a platform for durable, high-performance devices across next-generation optoelectronics.
