Many congratulations to Professor Saiful Islam, who has been awarded the Faraday Institution's 2024 STEM Outreach/Public Engagement Award.

This much-deserved recognition of Professor Islam's fun and effective outreach and Public Engagement with Research work was formally awarded during September 2024.  Saiful has engaged with the Guinness Book of Records (winning the record for the world's largest fruit powered battery), and he has been an active participant in Royal Institution, Royal Society and Royal Society of Chemistry events.  He has toured the UK with his 'Crystal Gazing' lecture (featuring free 3D spectacles for the audience) and has appeared in countless podcasts and interviews - most recently in 'They've Made Us' (by 'Cosmic Shambles') where he revealed that two great influences in his life are Sir David Attenborough and the band, 'The Smiths'.
