"The STEM for Britain event was a very enjoyable day that gave me the opportunity to discuss my work on chemiresistive  gas sensors not only with other researchers, but with MPSs and industrial representatives too"

Abi Lister

Congratulations to Abigail (Abi) Lister, who is working towards her doctorate in Professor Martin Castell's research group, for winning the Bronze award at this year's STEM for Britain competition.

Held in the Houses of Parliament on 6 March 2023, Abi presented her poster on 'Ultra-sensitive gas sensors made from electrochemically synthesised metal-organic frameworks', which illustrated a route to optimise conductive Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOF) synthesis and device integration processes by electrochemically synthesising the MOFs in-situ on the interdigitated electrodes required for sensing.

Abi won the Bronze award in the Engineering category, and is pictured (left) with both her poster and certificate.
