Research Areas

The Materials Department has internationally leading research activities in manufacturing and the performance of alloys for structural and nuclear applications, nanomaterials for quantum computing and future electronic devices, and polymers and biomaterials.  These activities are underpinned by excellent facilities and expertise in the advanced characterisation of materials and modelling capabilities over a full range of length scales.
